Abstract ✦ Marble Linocut Print

This piece is an experiment in capturing the abstract and flowing images of ink on water, in the form of a lino print. I dropped ink into a plate of water, then made marble prints on paper which I then drew from and rearranged to create this pattern.

Paper: Acid-free and eco-friendly, this handmade paper is crafted in Nepal from the Lokta bush, which regrows after harvesting. The paper is a soft, natural off-white color and provides a beautifully textured backdrop for the print.

Inks: Colored prints are handmixed from primaries per batch, causing slight variations that add charm and individuality to each piece.

• 70s Golden Green: A fascinating, ever-changing color that shifts between yellow and green depending on lighting. It’s a unique, unpredictable shade that adds character to the piece.

Due to differences in screen settings, colors may appear slightly different from the image on your device.
As I mix my inks fresh for each batch, colors may vary slightly between prints. This is part of the handcrafting process, making each print one-of-a-kind!

I recommend framing your print with a sheet of acid-free white paper behind it to enhance the appearance of the print. The transparency of the paper benefits from light filtering through, adding a dynamic quality to the artwork.
